I would be glad to use dbus-free software. I doubt there is
much user concern. IIUC dbus is a framework for remote procedure
calls (RPC) in the lineage including CORBA, bonobo and others.
That it is ambitious is not in itself a concern. I doubt
someone would bother to disengle them. Compiling dbus,
something I tried a few times, impresses one with the
enormous size of the project.
