No, that's all that _this_ library does. And, no, I did not
'extrapolate' anything. If you think so, you didn't read what I wrote
correctly, and ought to fix that.

libsystemd0's status as a bundle of interface code that does nothing in
the absence of systemd is not because it's a library -- obviously -- but
rather because all it _contains_ is interface code that does nothing in
the absence of systemd -- according to people who keep an eye on such
things, and also that's what it's documented to be.

If you want to determine whether those people are correct or not, you're
welcome to learn to read code and do likewise. Personally, I'm glad to
rely on those who do. And, pending my getting the library off my
system, I'm not going to waste time worrying about it any more than I
waste time worrying about the Kerberos libraries. If _you_ wish to do
so, on the other hand, feel free and have fun.

I'm sorry you did not understand the phrase 'it's just a library' and
erroneously overread that as a claim that libraries qua libraries cannot
do anyting. Perhaps if you bothered to read some basic documentation,
such as I recommended, you would not have encountered this problem.

I did not say, and would not say, that a libarary does nothing on
grounds of it being a library.

What is well established is that _this_ library is just interface code
for systemd, and therefore does nothing in its absence because of the
particular contents the library has. And I don't expect the Kerberos 5
libraries to suddenly start attacking my system because of the
particular contents _they_ have.

Either one _could_ be caused by a collaboration between evil upstream
developers and evil distribution packagers to attack my system. But
that's extremely low on my list of things to worry about. Your
paranoia priorities differ? Great, have fun.
