i've pretty much the same (only i use a pre-fabricated tool, cb-exit, a
logout tool of which once was done for crunchbang, a python script btw).
I set the line in sudoers like yours, yes: i used visudo! ;), but still
it does not work: shutdown, reboot, halt still require root with a
password. I am the only user on this machine
Reflecting on it: should there be created a group whereto user should
be added or somethin thatlike. In any case, user is added to the group
sudo.
