I cannot vet for each single provider, but at least avoids sniffing

we also use it by default in Dowse https://github.com/dyne/dowse
(which is under heavy development ATM and of course running on Devuan)
by chaining dnsmasq (local cache) to dnscrypt-proxy and works well.
