Thanks! Yeah, the usbmounter works great manually, but if you set it to
start with the desktop and use inotifywait, it'll pop up the window when
you plug in a usb stick... or a mouse... or in the middle of installing
the live-cd/usb to hard drive. I need to look at it a little closer.

I do. In fact, I got into making live builds because none of the existing
ones had what I wanted. That was back when the choices were limited to
ubuntu, knoppix or dynebolic.
