Whereas tightvnc works quite well over almost anything, and if you are
willing to drop to a small colour pallete (with the -bgr233 option)
it'll almost work on RS485 over wet string.

My personal experience over the last <cough> years is TightVNC > RDP >
VNC, but YMMV.
