How is the Lisp metarecursion "inherent"? It uses the same notation for
code and data. So what? If you like pain, you can write entire Ocaml
programs as AST data structures by hand and then pass it to the compiler
with the appropriate flag. The fact that you don't have to is an
advantage, IMO.
