I reckon it's because we use Yahoo! Mail. I remember 
some sites that prevent you from registration if you
use it, notable being gnome-look.org, saying that
they receive a lot of spam from @yahoo.com.

Btw, maybe someone knows good webmail clients, apart
from Google's and Yahoo?
