Hi Florian,
These are two very different skills whose correlation is noticeable, but
not nearly in lockstep. Like Edward, I'm not all that successful at
getting other peoples' software running. This is why, so often, I just
say "screw it", and write my own. It often turns out to be easier and
quicker.
Edward: Getting any email client to connect to any IMAP, especially an
encrypted IMAP, is always difficult and involves some trial and error,
especially because the IMAP server owners publish their instructions
for only Outlook and Thunderbird, and rely heavily on autodetection.
Ugh!
