Whoaaa, Jaromil, you're starting to sound like that Steve Litt guy. I
know what your suspicion is regarding Debian's rationale. I
have an extra tinfoil hat, if that would help you reveal your suspicion.

Meanwhile, in my opinion, of course you should not incorporate this
change into Devuan. This change specifically gives the finger to a
certain subset of users, and that's no good at all. Here's an essay I

Retaining the old way of pinning today is like retaining ndiswrapper in
2006: Perhaps religionally unpalatable, but absolutely necessary to a
subset of users. I hope you don't incorporate this change.

And perhaps not even religionally unpalatable: I think most folks
prioritize shelter from systemd over exact compatibility with Debian.
