Totally agree.

Upgrades can go wrong. If you don't reboot after a major update, your
system may work for months. Then you need to shut it down (your power
supply broke, or something like that).

You replace your power supply, and reboot.

Your system won't come up again, because of some bug in a system update
several months ago. Now debug that.
