ALSA always worked for me in «Fedora», «Debian» - up to «Jessie»
-- many cards and machines (dest/lap -tops) since about 2000. -- Diver
applications: «mplayer*», «alsamixer», «ardour», «audacity».
Rare/hardly working: PA, jackd.
