One more suggestion, Jeremy, if I may. Besides the steps you've
outlined use the system for your daily work. This way you will quickly
figure out what you need to know for those tasks. Once proficient in
that area you can expand your learning into other less used areas.

Also, don't stop studying Python completely. Knowing Python and/or Perl
is a good complement to knowing C.
