Agreed. It accomplishes nothing but heat up the list and add to the static.

RE: Development list:
Since there is way more general chit-chat, how about having the developers prefix actual dev topics with a [DEV] (or similar) in the subject? General mail tools could filter for that for those who wish. Also, If a [DEV]
thread gets off of the original topic, the subject line could have that tag removed by anyone replying. Likewise if a thread _becomes_ a dev topic.
