thanks. and also help people narrow down easier ways to achieve
removal of libsystemd0

doh!

well it's related to qjackctl - i have a particularly complex audio
setup. bypassing jackd and asking vlc to go directly to the alsa
hardware works fine.

... i'll work it out :)
