Good to hear your news Felipe,

I wonder if anyone on this list is a slow as me to come across the use
of the term Frugal Innovation?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frugal_innovation

The context that I have heard it in is quite business / start up focused
and I would be interested to hear people's thoughts on it.

I'm sharing that link as it seems to fit into your narrative somewhere,
another appropriation (positive or negative?)

On a related note, the Strawberry TARTS project has it's first gig in
Edinburgh Science fair thanks to Steve @ Noisytoys.org and I've started
a website here.

Felipe, I think your critique of the Maker culture reflects my feeling
about a rivalry to Raspberry Pis that the Strawberry TARTS represent. ie
don't just buy a cheap NEW card to run linux to teach kids, REUSE!

So the positive thing is that many doors does seem to be still open to
the tear down / scavengers and not just the shiny shiny side of the
maker scene. Sometimes I think we do need to work on our marketing a
better :)

They went for a few workshops which will strike a chord with people here
and I've put stills from the programme up here.
