It's a bad idea to use -, because after a NMU in Debian you'll have
1.7.5-4.1, and 1.7.5-4.1-0devuan0 sorts lower than 1.7.5-4-0devuan0.
You want + instead (1.7.5-4+0devuan0); prefixing it with 0 is pointless
as well, so let's go with 1.7.5-4-devuan0.
You can test this with dpkg --compare-versions.
Another problem with - is that you can't use it for Debian-native packages.
