After an unintenional reboot a few hours ago I have the same situation
now, on 3 Desktops and 3 Laptops.

slim as display manager.
xfc4 as window manager.
wicd & wvdial as network tool on the laptops.
hibernate for putting machines to sleep.

I don't see a problem with libsystemd0 "lying around".

Considering jessie is frozen for the most part, and assuming I haven't
overlooked some seldom-used application, we might just get through with
Debian for jessie's lifetime, giving alternatives like Devuan and
uselessd the time required for calm well-thought development.
