These are all important questions which do need addressing. I have
asked, and I hope that they will all be answered in due course. I
understand that people would be reluctant to donate their own money
to the project without some transparency and accountability here, and
I include myself in this category. However, I am not going to be
needlessly inflammatory about it.

I would also add that it takes time to set up all the infrastructure
for such a large undertaking. Debian is ~20 years old and certainly
did not start out with all this overnight; it evolved and grew over
years, and that includes organisations such as SPI. Not that I'm
downplaying the necessity, just that allowances could be made while
things are sorted out. Maybe worth mentioning that SPI manages the
legal/financial stuff for projects other than Debian, e.g. PostgreSQL;
it's not out of the question that it could also be used by Devuan,
maybe something to consider and investigate.
