thanks for your attitude. this sort of criticism is welcome.

as for identifying myself now, at least as responsible for the financial
operation: I don't really believe much in national IDs being a proof,
rather than peer network trust. For that, Debian uses PGP signatures.

Here are my keys with signatures made in more than 10 years. These are
mostly people I know in person: I don't do much pgp signature partying
since I don't call that partying :^)

This may just be boring for most people acquainted with Debian, whom I'm
sure have run their background checks and know well how to use whois and
pgp. Ultimately, ours is a very small world.

I understand this sort of reassuring identification being necessary for
the collection of money, altough I can't see it really happening that
much for the kickstarter sorts of iniatives, so I'm wondering.

As of our funds: they are way smaller than any kickstarter I've seen so
far, roughly up to some 4k $ approx. Compared to funds received for
projects like freedombox (who have problems delivering after years, BTW)
I wouldn't say we are running such a big operation. We'll see how to use
them, they can be well useful to oil the tasks we conduct with
volunteers, building infrastructure and covering overhead costs. Maybe a
good use can be to have a meeting/hackaton of sorts. For sure we can't
pay any direct costs (actual hours of work) being done by any of us with
this money, since it is way too little to stop calling this
volunteering. We are just lucky we don't need it.

If this adventure leads to have a large amount of funds we will use them
with enterpreneurial spirit rather than hoarding them: for the growth of
this project, but also in a non-competitive way towards the Debian
project.
