if you read the manifesto of the kurds by ocalan, they call themselves
libertarian socialists:

"The democratic confederalism of Kurdistan is not a State system,
it is the democratic system of a people without a State... It takes
its power from the people and adopts to reach self sufficiency in
every field including economy."

that's the people fighting now in kobane against IS.

they are the ones who rescued yazidi's trapped in sinjar when the
statist iraqi kurds ran away.

it is the anarchist militia's who are defending freedom.
and turkey tries to eliminate them while they secretly support ISIS.
US calls them terrorists and arms competing groups.
saudi arabia, qatar and other gulf states arm IS through proxies.
the iraqi ruling kurds try to sideline them & make deals with turkey.
