Naturally.

Let's say there are two fighters in a room, plus me. They refuse to just
crack a beer and relax, but rather insist on fighting.

Although I would be justified to defend myself if pressed, it is a
preferable use of resources (time and energy) to goad them into
fighting each other.

That's all I mean.
