How many of them actually work? In most fashionable fields - and mesh
networks is one of them - people like to propose random ideas to jump on
the bandwagon, without verifying them much.

Was text messaging only a turn-off? It sounds challenging enough
already, under the (reasonable) assumption that most of the proposed
mesh routing protocols are unusable.
