The whole thing is about an 8.0 on the Caroll Scale of nonsense. There's
been a rash of events lately that sound more like Onion satire than real
life. I'm struggling to understand this one.
But, happily, this story is *everywhere*. From anarchist circles to my own
mother's very conservative ones, no one seems to approve of this (except
the particular tax-funded gang in question, of course). Even with the
google bubble effect — where auto-personalized feeds isolate us from places
where polar opposite ideas are discussed as the "right" ones — the
consensus seems too uniform. I don't think it'll play out. Or at least we
can get a few moments of wakefulness out of the sleepy population, maybe.
