To everybody in this thread, let's all relax. We are all on the same open
source side here.
The chat on Monday with Google Hangouts is intended to be a kick-off chat
to test some kind of chat software to be used for podcast interviews and
toss around some ideas for guests and questions to ask. Google Hangouts is
a browser applet, easy to install and cross-platform. The choice of chat
software for podcast interviews with guests will depend on the guest's
resources. Robert Jakob is the lead on creating the unSYSTEM podcasts. If
anyone feels strongly about helping with the podcast, contact him.
It looks like we have a lot of interest in a larger audio chat to discuss a
wide variety of topics. I'll add the people who sent their skype names to
my contacts list. But, I agree that using an open source solution would be
better.
How about we test a Mumble based chat Sunday, 5/4/2014 at 19:00 US Central
Time Zone (00:00 UTC) using mumble.nexunity.org posted earlier by
Alexander S.T. Ross (MillWill)? I'll install Mumble and test it out tonight.
