Hi Victoria,

Sounds like what you are doing is amazing. Over here, our work with older
people (would love them to be elders but Britain doesn't think like that)
might be relevant since it's self determination, eco-solutions and water.
See it here: http://www.active-energy-london.org/

And I've attached a paper that is about to be published about the struggle
of getting this far (when we still thought we wouldn't).

Hope this is useful and reaches you in time!

All best

Ann

communities, solutions and self determination

Dear Bricos

it's been a while! Greetings from Australia, where i have ended up after
much travel in recent times, taking me to the lands of the Eagle and Condor
on several occasions and now to here the land of the Rainbow Serpent. i
have been doing a part time MSc in Transpersonal Psychology, Consciousness
and Spirituality on top of working linking together indigenous groups where
possible and studying quite a lot of plant medicines and healing modalities.
But i havent quite lost sight of things Brico, and now, as i have just been
called to present at a delegation with numerous elders and innovators or
Green Technologies at the weekend (no pressure lastminute.com style of
course) on

what various networks of Elders are doing internationally to lead to self
determination

i have been working a little with the international sovereignty movement,
but when i got the request for a presentation last night, began to think
about the networks i know, and talked to some of them

what i have been asked to talk about still hasnt progressed to full
realisation in a majority of communities because of many problems the
Bricolabs network have been working on

p2p networking, low tech solutions, distributed networks, water projects etc

and i felt that rather than giving a presentation on the opening morning
about all the trauma and lack of communications and rifts in communities
(which will get a mention of course) it would be great to look at how there
are many Elders in communities

hubs, young people, groups working to preserve their heritage or to work
with green technologies/knowledge sharing etc

and just wanted to ask the Bricolabs network if anyone has any info they
would like to share at this time about the progress of any work you are
doing, or how you would go about empowering Elders (especially indigenous)
ones to lead to greater self determination

One of the reasons i got asked to speak is because a major objective of the
delegation is to identify some pilots of green technologies that will be
replicated in commmunities, first in China, Australia and Chile, and then
elsewhere. There is a substantial amount of money being put in for the
pilots, and one reason i am there i guess is to make sure that there is
representation of the fact that there is awareness of grass roots
communities and how they can be involved in this rather than some high end
testing which just leads to profit by some rich entrepreneurs.

So, Bricos, if you have any updates or stories for me please, i would be
really grateful to be back in touch with this. The meetings have the
blessing and attendance of numerous Origine, Maori, Fijian, Easter Island
and beyond tribes....and further solidarity with groups in more distant
places is particularly welcomed from them at this time

hope to connect soon!

vx
