Ok, so I've created a fresh database, and have started downloading
from the genesis block. Unfortunately, I get the same problem. This is
with the latest github version.

Maybe I should try this in an Ubuntu VM, to see if it's maybe a bug in
one of the dependencies. I am currently running an up-to-date Arch
Linux distro.
