There is no spectrum of selfish and selfless. It's about how we view the
world. We can link together, pool resources and build common
infrastructure while securing a dignified existence for ourselves.

Or we can lock ourselves away, fight against each other, erect walls and
put our trust into central power which derives its legitimacy and
consent through the front of authority.

The old Persian empire with its seat in mountainous modern-day Iran
ruled with delegation of power to the conquered local governments who
had to pay homage to the king. The land makes it difficult to maintain a
standing army over long distances, yet also makes the country a natural
fortress difficult to invade. This is why Iran funds all these terrorist
and guerilla armies in different countries - they fight their wars using
subversion and proxy battles.

The large global power structures have made the concessions because they
have to in order to survive. In return it is a mechanism that subdues
people. Isolates and cuts us off from one another. The sooner we wake
up, the sooner the mirage will crumble and more concessions will have to
be made.

All throughout history, religion has had to reform to continue existing
at the threat of extinction. Our culture is the same, and so are power
structures.

Copyright is a tool that shouldn't exist. Culture should be free. Power
is a danger to speech, because speech is a danger to power. Now with the
internet we have a modern day Alexandrian library. Every African
villager or rejected thinker has the opportunity to tap into the global
repository of human information. Any attempts to limit or restrict this
is the biggest crime against humanity. Science and technology form the
fundamental basis of our society, and it's important we strive to
opening up these tools of science and technology to be owned by the people.
