Hey,
I am thinking about North Korea more than Cyprus. It's a fucking
awful place to be and there are millions of people imprisoned behind
"borders" and some thousands are in a "working camps". Yet "our" states
only export democracy to countries that don't have 1 million troops.
The only reason people survive there right now is because of market
(some call it black market, but markets didn't have colors last time
I looked).
There actually are merchants from China (and Russia) who cross the
prison boundary and enter the place on this planet no one would rather
be, bribing the prison guards of the "border" and import food to NK to
sell illegally. For profit.
Kims tried to stop this, but famine returned, so they can not.
12 days ago they tore the ceasefire agreement apart to show their
fucking big dicks.
For people who are brave enough that try to escape, they have to fear
for their lives not only when crossing the first prison border. If they
are caught in China, Laos or Cambodia, they are shipped back to NK
when they are given new work in working camps. Of course the "officials"
of these countries know exactly what will happen to them, so sometimes
they confiscate all the refugees have as a bribe instead of sending them
to slow and sure death. The real problem occurs when they are caught
more than one time.
The first safe place to be is South Korean embassy in Bangkok where
they get South Korean citizenship (automatically), which gives them one
piece of paper that makes them suddenly much safer in this world.
(This fact alone is so weird I can not understand why anyone thinks that
this world is not a huge bureaucratic machine).
I fucking hate that state and I know that other states will do
absolutely nothing unless they are attacked by North Korea. That means
it's our job.
I am thinking:
- launching a satellite that broadcasts information in Korean and
Bitcoin blockchain (maybe based on kicksat, broadcasting from
space is cheap and easy, the more important problem is receiving
stuff to broadcast)
- creating safe (I don't know how) Bitcoin wallets that can receive
that broadcast and keep transactions safe.
- chinese merchants could take the payments out when they want to
validate their bitcoin transactions. There can be insurance against
double-spend.
- North Korean people could secretly (using brain wallets) save for
escape. No "monetary reform" (="we take almost all your money") would
be able to steal from them. They could use this in case the famine
returns, because Kims chose to spend even more on military instead
of food. Or they piss the Japanese, Chinese, South Korean or
American governments and they stop the supply of food again. There's
only market left. And they need sound money.
There are many problems to solve, but one of the biggest is: how
to make it safe enough that people don't get caught with Bitcoin-capable
devices or representations of Bitcoin (like casascius coin).
Thanks to the market, information flows too, so Chinese merchants
could educate people (but it needs to be easy enough for them to
understand). Chinese merchants are better off if they are not caught
exporting any currency to the outside world (they BTW can now have
3G with internet connection if they are foreigners, I bet they
can bribe the operator to turn it on permanently, even if they
cross the prison line "illegally").
What are your thoughts? Is there something that can be done in
this area of the world that does not involve freezing in front of
some government building and protesting, but actually doing something?
