Docking is already inside debian-live in dyne III

quick setup:
-mount dyne III .iso somewhere
-copy the 'live' folder as topdir in one of your partitions (let's say
- /mnt/hda1/live)
-copy all the the other files inside a boot folder (eg
- (mnt/hda1/boot)

if you still use lilo (as I do) paste the following lines in your lilo.conf
(/etc/lilo.conf ?)

.... missing top lilo.conf lines

###     menu label dyne:III persistent (kind of nesting?)
image=/mnt/hda1/live/vmlinuz
initrd=/mnt/hda1/live/initrd.img
label=dyne3_persist
root=/dev/ram0

append = "initrd=/live/initrd.img boot=live username=luther
hostname=dynebolic union=aufs persistent" 
# notice "persistent" 
# and missing "fastboot", which seems to not umount everything properly

###     menu label dyne:III fresh
image=/mnt/hda1/live/vmlinuz
initrd=/mnt/hda1/live/initrd.img
label=dyne3_fresh
root=/dev/ram0
read-write
append = "initrd=/live/initrd.img boot=live username=luther
hostname=dynebolic union=aufs"

... missing other OSes to boot

run
lilo -C /path/to/lilo.conf -m /path/to/a/map.file

reboot

If you use grub or isolinux or whatever, you have to figure out how to adapt these lines for them

Now for an explaination of persistent (nesting?), I found it is already
inside dyne III with the debian-live package.

It is also interesting reading the doc delivered with dyne III at:

especially about persistence:

You can persist various data, eg only /home, snapshot etc. I imaginethat if the ext3 'live-rw data file is created as encriptd, it should be mounted altogether, but didn't try.

To accomplish persistence I had to recreate an initrd.img with newer
debian-live-initramfs scripts as the ones with DyneIII are buggy
