I guess the simplest approach would be to have all supported DEs
installed on the Live CD and use a graphical login manager to select
the DE of your choice (e.g. SLIM, GDM).

It is hard for me to judge how much work an additional DE means for
dyne:bolic but having the option to choose would be nice.
