Assunto: [dyne:bolic] Multiple soundcard with Jack
Hi,

I have been using dyne for about a year for making live
music with friends, and now it is time to record the live
session with dyne...but I am not enough familiar with linux
to get things going.

I have two usb sound card (Behringer UCA202) and want ALSA
to treat them as one card with 4 input and 4 output to use
with jack. I have found .asoundrc modification examples on
the web, but it seems that nothing happens due to my efforts.
I have created the .asoundrc file in home directory. The
cards are recognized after dyne runs when I replug them, and
then ALSA recognize them as hw 1 and 2 (there is a builtin
soundcard in my laptop).
It is clear for me that snd-usb-audio handles them and it is
autoloaded when cards are plugged not at reboot stage, when
probably ALSA checks applies its config file .

Could ALSA be forced to reread its config after startup ?

Could the .asoundrc be nested by dyne ?
How should I modificate dyne to load usb driver at bootup -
while sound cards are connected - and ALSA config to treat
them as one soundcard ?

hope you can help me
