Hi
I am not sure if you are using qjackctl or the command line, I use
qjackctl. I had a similar problem that was solved by going into the
settings menu & choosing the correct sound card for 'input device' &
'output device' instead of leaving it set to 'default'.
If that does not work then you need to tweak the other settings
