i suggest you try running this script to fix your desktop:
http://dev.dynebolic.org/trac.cgi/browser/dyneII/startup/bin/restore_default_desktop?format=raw

just download it, make it executable and run it... it should restore
your desktop as it is when you first booted dyne:bolic.
