Regarding the failure to boot using my usb "nest":

Tried it again, this time without using encryption. No difference.
Here's what showed up on the screen:

file etc/ld.so.conf is not writable
can't insert line /opt/audio/lib
[same repeated for image, network, text, video, xfce in place of audio]

can't open configuration file /etc/ld.so.conf: input/output error
can't create temporary cache file
/etc/ld.so.cache: read-only file system

So...my usb drive is read-only? Or the nest is? Why would that happen?

Also...still coping with super-accelerated mouse even at the slowest
setting. Any ideas?
