I forgot which driver I was testing in my previous post, I should have said
dfme. I'm still on the same computer, but now running v1.4.1, and here is
the output, pretty much identical to that when running v2.3:

I can ping everything everywhere near and wide, and the only difference I
can tellso far between v1.4.1 and the v2.x series is that I can only ping
the address assigned dynamically to eth0 by the gateway when I'm running
v2.x, nothing else responds...
