All,

Both adding a user via the AddUser program in Configuration and doing it
from the commandline don't work for me in 2.3. Via the GUI some error
messages flash by too quickly to read.

And via the command line using

useradd -d /home/NEWUSERNAME -g GROUPNAME -p NEWPASSWORD -s /bin/sh
NEWUSERNAME

I get an error stating:

invalid numeric argument 'users', where 'users' is the GROUPNAME.

What am I doing wrong here?
