Ok, here's the results of my playing around last
night.

Fist off, the nodma kernel option did not work.

Second, I tried the docked d:b again just to make sure
and I get the same results as with the CD.

Third, d:b 2.2 won't boot either. Infact it doesn't
even get past the isolinux bootloader.

Finally, d:b 2.1 boots just fine but after poking
around a little it doesn't look like the wireless
driver is loading right. I didn't try loading it
manually from the command prompt though.

I also poked around under Ubuntu which runs flawlessly
on this laptop and the kernel version is 2.6.16. Also
the Uniform CD-Rom driver in Ubuntu is 3.20 which is
the same as d:b 2.3. I forgot to grab the dmesg
output this morning before coming to work but I do
know that there is no mention of RAID devices
following the CD-ROM driver. I'm thinking the RAID
driver might be screwing with something in my system.
Does anyone know if there is a kernel option that will
prevent loading the RAID driver?
