A larger nest size? Interesting...

A short update on my progress: I bit the bullet and repartitioned my hard
disk. This Dell laptop, like many others, has a kind of hidden partition,
with Dell only stuff on it formatted as fat16. This is followed by the
NTFS partition for WinXP. I used to have dyne docked in the NTFS
partition.

fat16 (Dell) | ntfs (WinXP + Dyne docked)


Used the GParted LiveCD (all stand and hail this great piece of software)
and shrunk the NTFS partition, freeing up 4 GB. Formatted this new
partition as ReiserFs. Dyne is now docked in there. So now the situation
is:

fat16 (Dell) | ntfs (WinXP) | reiserfs (Dyne docked)

This also gives me write access to dyne.

I also added the nest to the reiserfs partition. Had to take a detour to
get this done. When trying to nest on the hard disk, using the Configure
menu, only the fat16 partition was shown. Is this a bug? I would expect
the reiserfs partition to show up as well. The fat16 partition is just 100
MB in size, so it was not an option. Apart from not even wanting to touch
it.

So, I created a nest, 128 MB, on a usb stick first. Copied this nest to
the reiserfs partion and all was well.

fat16 (Dell) | ntfs (WinXP) | reiserfs (Dyne docked + nest)

Tried your suggestion, created a new nest, 512 MB, on a usb stick. Dyne
does recognize this nest at boot, it even gives you the choice which nest
to use , i.e. the (small) one on the harddisk or the larger one on the usb
stick. When choosing the usb stick nest the same mayhem occurs as before.
So no luck there.

For now I have increased the nest on the harddisk by simply copying the
new larger nest from the stick. Not a solution, just simply a larger nest
:-)

Still in exploration modus and open for suggestions...
