Subject: [devuan-dev] bug#971: Graphical-only freeze on Excalibur (AMD Ryzen AI 340 / Radeon 840M-860M) — notkernel/GPU-driver level, possible regression from pre-stable
Package: xorg-server

Dear Devuan Team,

Hello I'd like to report a bug that I recently discovered after trying to install the latest version of Devuan, I don't know if this is my own fault or this is something that the distros installation process didn't take into account. recently I was trying to install Devuan again on my Lenovo Yoga 7 AMD. Keep in mind this was not the first time I had used Devuan on my laptop, the exact same laptop, therefore I believe that this is a recent issue.
==DESCRIPTION OF THE BUG==I've seen this only on Xorg x11 desktop environments I keep having a freeze, first believed to be cache, which then I paused the cache processes so that it wouldn't take the process up. This freeze screen pauses all graphical processes except mouse movement. TTY switching works, while on TTY3 I could use the network, run Bluetooth, install software and more. This bug only seems to apply to tty2 and the graphical proccesses. I am not an experienced debugger, but when I was sifting through the dmesg logs I wasn't able to find anything.
== WHAT LEAD UP TO THE BUG =
1) I flashed the Devuan Latest Excalibur Desktop iso using balena etcher into a USB. 2) On the first install attempt I downloaded LXQT on the installation menu, on the second one I chose XFCE.3) I downloaded the system through usb0 because the wifi drivers weren't installed.4) Once I was in the installed system the first things I downloaded were Blue man, BlueZ and fastfetch.5) During Bluetooth debugging this happened. At first I thought it was only a Bluetooth issue that held back the graphical processes so I stopped doing the debugging, after a few moments it happened again.6) I tried doing debugging in TTY3 I couldn't find anything in dmesg, it isn't an init issue since I could run other processes, I have no idea what else it could be.
Thank you for your work on Devuan, it's truly on my list of favorite distros and I wouldn't be sending this if I didn't love it this much.
