..yup. Just force the install. If your faorite apt* --force
options fails you, chk out dpkg's --force-help options.
..if those fail you too, upgrade to devuan daedalus or slackware,
I see too many pötterisms in Devuan Excalibur, e.g. usr-merge...
..I believe we need to port slackware packages to devuan for
anything important to us. Non-critical stuff can remain with
Debian as upstream, that approach should ease our pain.
