As one of the comments in the thread for issue #92 said, "apt install
autoconf-archive" fixed the c++17 wibble (had to rerun autogen.sh).
Also needed "apt install libfuse-dev". After that, configure and make
worked fine. Haven't tried the resulting simple-mtpfs executable as
yet.
