In general, src:iio-sensor-proxy is not forked in Devuan and we use Debian's
packages directly without recompilation. So, in principle, this issue will be
reproducible on a Debian non-systemd installation (which is still viable) and
should be reported to Debian's BTS for resolution.

I am unfamiliar with the package, but a quick look suggests the daemon is
started by a udev rule. If you can work a suitable patch for
/usr/lib/udev/rules.d/80-iio-sensor-proxy.rules and send it to Debian with your
bug report, you may have a better chance of success.
