Sorry about that. The bug that cups-browsed fails to connect to
printer was reported years ago. The work around included manually
configuring cups-browsed.

I meant others on this list. That is, a bug in Excalibur's support
for cups-browsed connection to a printer.

By downgrading from Excalibur to Daedalus on four different drives
the problem disappeared.
