Sorry confuse thing. I'm only speaking of .fetchmailrc. I have
two addresses that I poll. I found that by commenting one polling
stanza, the error disappeared.
I suspect the the indent for the ssl line was done with a tab,
and when I replaced it the four spaces (same length as the tab)
the problem disappeared.
I have the same problem on my principle maching, but replacing
tab witn four spaces didn't help. I finally copied the stanza in
the .fetchmail to the prinicple machine and it works.
This despite my not being able to see any difference in the two
version, altahough there is someting obiously there. So rather
the problem being solved, it is worked around. The moral of the
story is that .fetchmailrc is a delicate file.
