I can't suggest vide card, but note that if your system is set up to
configure the wifi interface, the lack of firmware may be the reason it
stays waiting. I suggest you confirm the networking setup to ensure it
doesn't e.g. stay waiting for a dhcp response via hotplug (udev), before
you go bying a vide card.
