Dear Andres,
congratulation for cute angel in family ! :)
about micro satellite from LAPAN (Indonesian National Institute of Aeronautics and Space) :
Model Development :
- Geospatial Data of Ring of Fire Areas: Evacuation map of Tsunami
- Weather forecasting/climate prediction
- Food security assessment
- Disaster Management
Capacity Building :
- Formal education
- Trainings
- Institutional arrangements
- International cooperation:
- UN COPUOS
- UN ESCAP
- UN CSSTEAP
- UN World Food Programme (UN WFP)
- GEOSS
- ESA
- JAXA

- APSCO
- COST-SCOSA
- USGS
- Department of Land Information (DLI), Govt. of Western Australia
- Technical University, Berlin, Germany
- EU South Sumatra Forest Fire Management Project (EU SSFFMP)
just drop this information (micro satellite in indonesia) , cause 2 reason after :
-
http://www.interorbital.com/TubeSat_1.htm conversation in this list before
- our short conversation with JNM during wintercamp last year, INC
helloo JNM, still want to build a small satellite? :)
but dont want to build like this

I live in Alabama and we are fed up of people wasting our money on stupid things like this You should be fighting in irak and stopping terrorists from attacking America instead of sending stupid balloons up.
We have AIR FORCE to take pictures.
We Americans must stop muslin terrorists..We must fght for justice, democracy and civisation and stop forigners despoiling this great country.
GOD BLESS AMERICA.

and related to your second question about 'educational component',
we start here to had some link and collaboration with some university like :
http://www.akprind.ac.id/
and also :
http://www.ukdw.ac.id//d.php?u=PR-INF
we will have 'open discussion' about this topic for HONF next year program called "lab>>2>>lab", and i really hope also that some brico-people in this list :) can able to jump n join for this idea.
i just had a conversation with Marc Dusseiler
http://www.dusseiller.ch/labs/
and he just drop this link as an 'open satellite' project

cc to Marc !
best
n kiss to the angel... :)

Dear Venzha and Bricolbers
After a great summer -had a daughter, now she is 3 months- I have been reading some posts, I must say very interesting information is crossing the list, appreciated ... I will try to participate a bit more and reply a couple of old messages.
But I must say I really want to know a little bit more about this satellite project. I can see it is going on the way of micro satellites ... I understand it must be completed this year, but I am wondering what is the main pourpose of the research and how are you going to integrate the educational component of the project.
I was interested in two sentences in the PDF:
"- Extended distribution of advanced knowledge, skill and experience in micro-satellite integration, test, operation and application at relevant industries, research agencies and universities;
- Promote public, private and education awareness and programs in space science, technology and application"
Thanks a lot
