Hi everyone,
my two cents! :)
I have been teaching for more then twenty years now and realize that I can
only be relevant at a particular moment in time for a period of time, then
the things that I think are key or important are shifting backwards
towards context and storytelling metaphors and analogies ( when x was
there and did that...)
John refers to the dominance of this very homogeneous group of white male
well educated - university - thinking people where this whole notion of
email generated from. I see no logical reason why this should remain a
constant form of the most coherent or complex or 'whole' or more secure
(all email is stored for how long now in Europe to be backtracked by
security forces and plain police?) form of communication.
Looking back makes sense sometimes, and looking forward implies making
your own ideas and notions of quality relative to a context that has
severely changed. I'm learning that all the time, and jesus do I sound
like an old school teacher now! :)
