The international Lighting guerrilla festival encourages artistic
creationof lighting objects and reexamines
the position of the artist at co-designing urban space and consequently
improving the quality of living.
This year’s theme is Recycling. Through the phenomenon of light we would
like to accentuate the role of light and energy, as well as stress out the
importance of preserving the environment and saving the energy. We aim to
encourage a responsible participation in the field of developing creative
ways of recycling and sustainable design. At the same time, we examine the
understanding and relation to the recycling with general population.
The rich and varied program is, like last year, set up in the Vžigalica
gallery and its surroundings, and the artists present projects which feature
the recycling of different materials and ideas, light and cultural
inheritance, or merely imply various possibilities of recycling.
The main program is taking place between June 15th and July 18th in
Ljubljana and Kranj. The festival’s pre-opening will be held at Galerija
Škuc on June 10th at 21:30 with exhibitions The Dark
