sunny sontag here in croy-romanmontier, all day sitting beside Doma
testing freej-0.10, first impressions to share with fellow users:
-installed painlessly, as never before, just a minute to have
freej-0.10 ready to roll (provided by launchpad sources under debian
macintel, tx btw to the package maintainer:)
-freej ran stable for more than an hour... blits applied, layers flew,
text scrolled...for text I needed to put the test.txt file in the same
level from where i was launching freej, not in /usr/share/freej where
the .js example file is located.. also i needed to put a .ttf in
/usr/share/fonts (ttf fonts can't be inside dirs, cause freej wont
recursively search for them afaict. Tx Doma for the help.
-since bandwidth here is crap testing streams was not really possible,
only problem so far in that regard is jack related:
JackClient::ConnectInput: cannot connect input port [alsaplayer] to [In0]
no matter if i choose "alsa" or "alsaplayer" under my stream.js file i
get this cannot connect input port to in0
jack tells me obviously a similar thing: unknown source port in
attempted connection [whatever]
does anyone has a tip for avoiding this?
i want to document a bit this all, where will you suggest i should do
it, there are already so many versions and it will be wise to define a
common wiki for 0.10 users.
/a
